Happy September friends!
Can you believe it!? I've missed blogging, I've been so busy with getting ready for the craft fair and then just being uber tired that I haven't even switched on my computer until now.There is so much to blog about I really need to start writing things down. 
The fun part of being away from it all is everything that I've been able to catch up on. I love having big catch up sessions, especially with some of my favourite blogs, it's fun to see what everyone has been doing the last few weeks but it's been such a manic few weeks that I've really appreciated being at home. Sometimes it's nice to just stop, lie on the sofa, drink tea, breathe and just be.at.home.

I feel totally drained, so much so that I fully took advantage of Sam having two weeks off work where he cooked A LOT of evening meals, did a lot of cleaning up around the home, made me lots of breakfasts (which he does anyway, mainly to make sure I actually have breakfast) and a whole load of other things. Seriously, he is my hero - well, so is my pops but I have to say that because I know he will read this :o)
Anywhoooo...I will fully make it up to him. He's back to work now so it's both of us doing the chores BUT it IS my birthday reeeeeallly soon so I might need to skip one more weekend....I'm sure he won't mind....too much.

Talking of Sam being my hero - we had a great time at the vintage, craft fair and farmers market. Although the day was unusually quiet we did really well and Sam sat with me behind my stall for the whole day, only leaving to get us supplies. I was so nervous at the start - it was my first craft fair - but really relaxed once we got talking to a few other crafters who were encouraging me along the way.

I also got new contact lenses this week - I can see clearly now. Woohooo. I get to pick out some new frames too next week.

Lazy Sunday afternoon

Hi :)
Having a very lazy sunday afternoon. This week I have felt soooo tired. I think my body has finally caught up with a full time job - but do you know what? I LOVE getting up for work in the mornings. Not only does my job SMELL great but they gave us each a cupcake for lunch on Friday which made my world pretty happy, especially since we haven't done a food shop for a long time and I've been living off supernoodles and toast this last week...we just haven't needed to do one because we've been invited out to dinner every single night this week, however, while I was working Saturday, Sam did a giant food shop and our house is stocked up again with lots of fresh food and treats. Not only did he do that, he cleaned our little home, put fresh flowers everywhere and even made the dinner that night. Feeling very very blessed and now I'm going to enjoy chilling on the sofa for the rest of the night together.

Here's some sweet things I made this week for my stall at the end of August but in the meantime they are available in my shop.

A heart made from butterflies

Hello!
It was such a warm day today. I hear it's going to be nice all weekend which will be lovely since it's my long weekend off work. Good timing.
I have occassionally been able to taste test at work this week (best job!) since I'm the new kid and haven't tried all our products yet I get to trial a few things. I've had the cupcakes - unfortunately ate them before thinking about taking a photo...oh well, next time...however, this week I got to try our 'cake sundaes'. They are like pushpops but cake! This is the lemon one - my favourite.

On another note, here is something a made two very special friends. It was their tenth anniversary last week. The words around it are things like their children's names, the place where he proposed, the place they honeymooned, etc etc.

'You've gotta dance like there's nobody watching...'

How is it August already? I haven't blogged for a while...hmmm...most of my posts start with that, I think I need to get better.
I have nearly finished my second week in my new job so I've been busy settling in to something completely alien to me but I've loved it! It is so fun working with cakes all day and because we're so busy time goes super fast, I keep forgetting it's my lunch break and before I know it people have started to clear everything away. Adjusting to a full time job hasnt been as scary as I originally thought, I don't even miss my day off because twice a month I get a three day weekend, the other two I only get one day but it's not too bad at all.
Everyone is nice, I'm decorating and smelling cakes all day - what could be better?

Once I get into more of a routine I can focus on making things again - I've done a few projects but I can't share them yet. Waiting for someone to recieve a gift someone has bought off me for someone else is exciting/driving me crazy! But I have lots to create for my craft stall at the end of August! If you're around SAVE THE DATE (27th August - bank holiday) It's HERE! Isn't it sweet?! It's just a 5-10 minute walk from my little home and they'll be a farmer's market there at the same time so I'll get to smell good food all day too - maybe sneak a sample or two!

Anyway, I'll be back soon, with more to say! I need to sort and organise my little life properly and get going with everything again!

Flower power

So I start my new job tomorrow. It's the first time where I actually feel excited about the prospect of work, yet still very nervous. I don't really know what to expect and I have the obvious (yet ridiculous) case of doubting my talents. Still, they took me on because they saw potential in me so we shall see.
In my last few days at home I've been relaxing, painting & tidying. Living in a rented house can be difficult for someone like me who just wants to be let lose with a paintbrush, hammer and nails to make it more 'ours' but we have to just work with what we've got.
I realised that flowers can make such a difference in any home, of course I always knew that but once you're paying for rent, bills and food, flowers & plants cannot be at the top of my priority list. I've been lucky enough this week to have my momma fill my house with them. Here's a few corners of my home that now look a bit more special:

New beginnings

Hoorah! It was my very last day at work today - I become a cake decorator on Monday! As glad as I was to leave that place I was so sad to leave my team. They have been some of the best people I've worked with. We had a lot of laughs amongst the dreariness.
Still, a new, exciting life awaits and I'm ready for it.

I'll have less time to pursue my art and crafts but I'll do my best to make time. I'll be running my very own craft stall at the end of August so I'll have plenty of work to be getting on with to fill up the table.

Life is good.

Nerja, Spain

It's been oh so long. Life has been busy catching up with everything since we returned home from holiday. We had the most wonderful two weeks away in the sun and I came back with the most glorious tan - although I can't show it off in England with all the rain we've been having! Boo. It's quite refreshing now though to wear jeans and jumpers again although I don't think I'll be saying that for too long. Looks like Britain won't have much of a summer.
I was so looking forward to coming home after such a refreshing holiday and it was SO nice to return to our OWN home. Such a wonderful feeling.....but we now how the itch to go away again - always the way with us!

Nerja, Spain was everything we wanted our holiday to be. It's the third time we've been now so we visited all our favourite places and discovered new ones. It was so romantic celebrating our first anniversary away from home, we will probably make it a tradition to go away every year. I fell in love all over again. I thought I couldn't love him more and there it was, exploding in my belly and making me feel all giddy.

It was lots of fun, lots of good food, good drinks, good laughs and good friends. Here's a few snapshots:

Still, we both have lots to look forward to - I only have THREE days left of work before a four day weekend and then I begin my new cake decorating job. *happy face* and Sam starts his in a month's time. Fresh starts in work environment's we want to be in, new people to get to know and more fun to be had!
